Scholarships

The following scholarships may be available for exchange students from partner universities.

(1) Dokkyo University International Scholarship (Foreign Exchange Student Scholarships)

  1. Candidates: Exchange students from partner universities, available to all nationalities
    *Excludes the recipients of JASSO scholarships
  2. Quota: One student from each partner university
  3. Monthly stipend: 20,000 yen
  4. Duration: Spring semester (six months from April to September)
    Fall semester (six months from October to March)
  5. Eligibility: Students who are not receiving another scholarship which requires recommendation of Dokkyo University are eligible.

(2) JASSO Student Exchange Support Program (International Student Scholarship for Short-term Study in Japan)

  1. Candidates: Exchange students from partner universities, available to all nationalities
  2. Quota: To be decided by JASSO (Japan Student Services Organization). Allocated quota varies yearly.
    *Dokkyo University nominates candidates depending on its allocated quota.
  3. Monthly stipend: 80,000 yen
  4. Duration: One year (12 months) in principle. Three to six months in case of additional recruitment.
    ** In case a recipient returns to his/her home country in the middle of the period, payment will be discontinued. This does not apply to a temporary return for less than a month.
  5. Eligibility: Students who are not receiving another scholarship which requires recommendation of Dokkyo University are eligible.
    *Applicants must have a GPA of 2.3 or above from the previous year as of the time of nomination at the home university according to JASSO formula.
    Students who are receiving or will receive other scholarships for the purpose of studying in Japan are eligible for this JASSO Scholarship if the total stipend per month does not exceed 80,000 yen; however, they are not eligible if any of the said scholarships does not allow them to receive multiple scholarships. Dokkyo University International Scholarship cannot be awarded together with the JASSO Scholarship.
