Searching candidates for a part-time English teaching position for Wednesday 英語科目非常勤講師公募のお知らせ(水曜日分)

CLASSES to be taught weekly:

Spring semester: (1) English I (1st year Writing), (2) English III (2nd year Writing)
Autumn semester: (1) English II (1st year Writing or Speaking), (2) English IV (2nd year Writing)
Total = 100 minutes x 2 komas x 14 weeks / semester. 合計100分×週2コマ×14週/学期.

TEACHING DAYS:

Spring semester: Wednesday 2nd & 3rd periods (10:55 - 12:35, 13:35 - 15:15)
Autumn semester: Wednesday 2nd & 3rd periods (10:55 - 12:35, 13:35 - 15:15)

QUALIFICATIONS (all obligatory):

  1. Master's degree in TESOL/TEFL or in relevant fields 英語教育もしくは関連分野で修士号を取得していること。
  2. Teaching experience at university level (preferably) in Japan 国内の大学相当教育機関において教育歴を有することが望ましい。
  3. A person who can and is willing to teach in English comprehensible to students 学生が理解できる英語で熱意を持って授業を行えること。
  4. A person with a working knowledge of the Japanese language 業務に関わる日本語の運用能力を有すること。

DATE of employment:

1st of April, 2023 - 31st of March, 2024 (renewable by mutual agreement 以後相互了解により更新可能)

  2. Cover letter in English explaining the applicant's policy in ELT. 英語教育に対する理念を記した英文カバーレター
  3. Curriculum Vitae. 履歴書 (Indicate the courses the applicant has taught 既担当授業名を付記すること)
  4. List of academic publications. 業績表
  5. 2 selective publications (real or photocopied) from the list: academic books or articles published in academic journals together with the title page and contents; MA dissertations are not counted. Consult us if you want to submit paper-bound books.
    学術 的な著書もしくは論文の写し2点(表紙・目次を含めること.修士論文は対象外).書籍体を提出希望の場合は相談のこと.

Note: CV (3) and list of publications (4) must follow the university's format. 履歴書 (3) 及び業績表 (4) は大学指定の様式(下記サイトよりダウンロード可)を用いること. The forms can be 1 downloaded from the university's website (https://www.dokkyo.ac.jp/about/recruit/). The PDF document should hold a name in the following format. PDF 書類名は次の形式に従うこと.

NOTES:

  1. Include in the CV an email address AND a telephone number that the applicant can be reached at on Wednesday, 8th of March, in the evening. 3月8日(水)夕刻以降に連絡可能な電子メールアドレスと電話番号を履歴書に付記すること.
  2. Only short-listed candidates will be contacted; they will be offline interviewed (including short demonstration of evaluating student writing in English) on Saturday 11th of March. 書類審査の結果は通過者のみに対して行う.該当者には3月11日(土)に対面による面接審査(学生による英作文の評価実演あり)を行う.
  3. Transportation fee for the offline interview will not be reimbursed. 対面面接のための交通費は支給しない.
  4. Academic publications submitted physically, where applicable, can be returned on request together with post-stamped and self-addressed envelope enclosed on submission. 別途陸送提出物がある場合,業績の写しは原則として返却しないが,返却を希望する場合は切手を貼付した返信用封筒を提出時に同封すること.
  5. Applicants working for (or will be working for) other departments at Dokkyo University are not eligible for the present position. 獨協大学の他学科にて勤務する者およびその予定のある者は本件に応募できない.
