How to apply

Dokkyo University offers special Japanese language courses for exchange students who are studying at a university that has a student exchange agreement with Dokkyo (partner university).
If you are studying at a partner university and wish to study at Dokkyo University, please contact the person in charge of the exchange program in your  university.

Terms and conditions of the Japanese Language Program

Eligibility requirements

The student is currently enrolled in a university that has a student exchange agreement with Dokkyo University, and the student is proficient in Japanese to a level equivalent to Japanese Language Proficiency Level 3 or above. (A student who has not studied Japanese language may be accepted only in the Fall Semester.)

Semester periods

Spring: April to mid-September (Class starts: Beginning of April / Final Exam: End of July)
Fall: Late September to March (Class starts: End of September / Final Exam: End of January)
The Japanese Language program lasts for three months in each semester.
Orientation will be held a week before the class starts.

Application deadline

Spring Semester: November 30 (of the preceding year)
Fall Semester: April 30

Accommodation

Dokkyo University has an Off-Campus Housing Service for exchange students, and in principle, you are required to live there while you study at Dokkyo. While we guarantee a room for you, you should apply for housing before the application deadline. Information in detail will be provided after your application has been accepted.

Green Avenue Yatsuka (contract apartment):
From 45,000 yen to 50,000 yen per month
Depending on a floor area(A three-bedroom apartment shared by three students)

Notes

  • If you wish to do an internship after completion of study at Dokkyo, you are responsible for finding an internship program before the commencement of the program.
  • You may not be able to study under this program if  you could not obtain the appropriate residential status or visa, even if  you have been accepted into the program.
